One of my all time favorite middle grade series - Linc Baker is that kid who is always in the wrong place at the wrong time, doing the wrong thing - and who all the same is exactly where he needs to be. He reminds us that more often than not what looks like mistakes and failures are often just steps along the path to success.
I also love how FT Bradley always gives Linc a killer female side-kick and throws in some other powerful female characters throughout the books.
I further love the way she pulls in real history and geography without bogging down the action. We learn so much when we read these books and they always get us excited to travel and take the Linc Baker tour of action!
Let's hope the publisher decides to create some Linc Baker tour maps to go with the deluxe boxed set!

Another great tale from a talented and fun writer. My son loved this book.
This is the second book in this series. While it is written for children 8 to 12, I found it to be interesting and well written and It held my interesting to the end.
Fantastic! It's like THE DAVINCI CODE meets James Bond for middle schoolers! I thought Mrs. Bradley did a great job keeping the twists coming and raising the stakes higher as the plot, and Linc's escapades, progressed.
Working in the public library, I somehow came across this series even thought we didn't own it. A great adventure for boys and girls alike! This is book 1 of the series.
We have seen a lot of "international thrillers" in the past decades for adults, but not very many written for kids. Let this be a start! Double Vision introduces readers to Lincoln, a boy prone to trouble (you love him from the very first page), and takes him to Paris. Here he causes even more trouble -- for the bad guys -- while impersonating a young secret agent who looks like him. The danger, chases, friendships, and code breaking will keep readers interested all the way through. Also there are some cool gadgets for kids to drool over. This is a very satisfying book, my son and I can't wait for the next one to come out.
I bought Double Vision for my 11-year-old granddaughter, so I did not actually read this middle grade novel. However, my granddaughter could not put it down from the moment she started reading the story. She is a picky reader, and will not stick with a story she does not enjoy. She read Double Vision in one sitting. I hope the author has more books coming out soon.
Whether 'observing' as twelve-year-old Lincoln Baker solves clues, or digging in to decipher them alongside him, boys and girls alike will appreciate this book's imperfect hero, and will love its globetrotting, mystery, and adventure. Parents will appreciate it too, and are sure to find themselves laughing aloud at its humorous zingers. I can't wait to pick up "Double Vision Code Name 711!"
